Drinking Coconut – Nature's Beverage

Coconut water is one of the purest, most nutritious and wholesome beverages that nature has provided us.

As the coconut grows, it naturally filters water from the ground through its roots and trunk, which ends up inside the coconut. This filtering process can take over 6 months. The water is purified as it travels through the fibres of the tree and eventually takes on the delicate slightly sweet flavour of the coconut as the sterile water sits encased in the nut.

Fresh Drinking Coconuts are harvested early and then the thin shells are cut away, leaving the white outer husk to protect the coconut inside.

Fresh coconut water is a natural isotonic beverage with almost the same level of electrolyte balance as we have in our blood. In fact it closely resembles blood plasma. During the Pacific War of 1941-45, military doctors used coconut water to give emergency transfusions, when plasma was unavailable, saving many lives.

The people in tropical regions and countries have been enjoying this drink for centuries. They have used the all-natural coconut water to refresh, refuel, re-hydrate, feed and maintain the proper nourishment and fluid levels in their bodies. The natural coconut water has a caloric value of 17.4 per 100 gm.
