Ginger Tiger - Healthy herb of the ancients

Ginger root is thought to have many health benefits and has been used traditionally for medicinal purposes in Asian, Indian and Arabic countries since ancient times. The list of ailments for which ginger root was prescribed is long and varied, but today it is still used as an important ingredient to treat stomach aches, nausea, coughs and colds and arthritis.

It is thought that many of the benefits of ginger come from the volatile oils and phenol compounds such as gingerols and shogoals, which give ginger its distinctive taste.
